A young boy in my contact almost turned Anti-Hindu. When Trads started rampaging. His doubts regarding Geeta, Varna was cleared by an ISKCON Acharya. He is a proud Hindu today. There are many such stories. ISKCON, Sadhguru, Sri Sri etc are reason why many are still Hindu.
A Hindu gone is not just a Hindu Less, it's one more enemy. Tradition whiners can go on boycotting every second thing which moves. But history teaches us if such ideas worked. Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh would have been Hindu today.
I think if there are differences, they can be discussed without vilifying any sect. But yes this gatekeeping does us more harm than good. They openly label these people anti hindu and what not.
ISKCON I can agree - but not sure if Sadhguru and Sri Sri can be spoken in the same breadth. They themselves claim they are "Spiritual" gurus? Sadhguru time and again says Yoga/Siva/Sivarathiri isn't related to Hinduism. How is that contributing !!
Hinduism is perceived differently by different Sampradayas. From Agamas to Vedas. The word Hindu may be having a feel for these gurus. For the spread of Yoga and spirituality, they did not find it right to link it with Hinduism. They don't promote Beef or Anything.
I kind of went through the same turmoil for sometime, glad that boy is out of that phase.
I am convent educated, I believed Hindu traditions & cultures are to be ashamed of. No bindis & bangles. Did not visit temples or attend poojas. Joining AOL connected me to our glorious culture. Started attending poojas, wearing bindi, learning our scriptures.
I had differences with your views but this one you rocked
